PREPARATION FOR THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION:
Currently, the process to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation takes place once a teen has turned 15, has already been Baptized and received First Communion, and who personally desires the Sacrament of Confirmation. Faith in Jesus and a desire for life in the Catholic Church is expected for all teens who request Confirmation.
Teens that are not yet ready to prepare for Confirmation are encouraged to attend weekly Young Church, our Summer youth events (such as the Steubenville Youth Conference or Lifeteen Camp), as well as continue to grow in faith as a family at home until a personal desire for Confirmation is authentic.
IF YOUR TEEN IS SEEKING CONFIRMATION:
First, Please register your teen for weekly Young Church: REGISTER.
Email Tim (firstname.lastname@example.org) and request Sacrament Preparation.
Tim will send you a link to an intake form.
After the form is filled out, Tim will contact you about placement of your teen.
WHAT DOES CONFIRMATION PREP FOR TEENS AT SFA LOOK LIKE?
The Preparation Process for a teen seeking Confirmation (who is eligible) begins with a Parent & Teen Confirmation Orientation Meeting September 12 or 19 at 7pm in the Church (please attend one). The preparation process then includes 6 Teen Sessions, a Weekend Retreat, and Parent faith formation (Sponsors also encouraged to attend) that will be held outside of weekly Young Church.
