SUMMER CAMP 2019
The Pines Catholic Camp
July 28th - August 3rd

Middle School Young Church will not be going to a summer camp as a group this year.

Instead, we’ve partnered with The Pines Catholic Camp to provide an amazing Catholic summer camp experience available to all parishioners ages 7 to 17!

Check out a message from The Pines Catholic Camp below

We're thrilled to partner with St. Francis to bring the one-of-a-kind experience of Catholic camping to more campers from Grapevine! The Pines is a Sunday-Saturday overnight camp for rising 2nd-12th graders. Located in Big Sandy (about two hours east of Dallas), campers will be able to spend time in the piney woods of God's creation as they laugh, play, make new friends, and grow closer to Jesus.

For a quick look at camp, check out some of our videos below:

Our camp offers a balance of faith, fun, and friendship.

Faith

Our Catholic identity is at the heart of our ministry. Campers have the opportunity to grow in their relationship with Jesus every day through . The experience of Mass, Reconciliation, adoration, and praise & worship at camp helps to make an impact that will stay with them for a lifetime. Our goal is to give youth the confidence and the strength they need to continue their faith journey and to help them foster healthy vocations. We are excited to share the teachings of the Catholic Church with all who come and experience The Pines in a refreshing and welcoming way in the beautiful outdoors!

Fun

The Pines is a traditional summer camp, and that means tons of fun activities! A list of what we offer can be found on our activities page. Each day, campers will be able to participate in 3-4 activities in addition to the other fun staples of camp that include a night game (capture the flag, the “Animal Game”, “Grannie’s Candies”, the “Spy Game”, and more), an all-camp Wednesday night dance, and a Friday full of messy activities with water balloons, shaving cream, and slime! Our counselors are trained to lead these activities, but also to keep an eye on the campers to ensure that they're feeling included and having a good time.

Friendships

New, fulfilling, lasting friendships. We see these friendships form week after week between campers with different backgrounds, interests, and even different languages! The fun of camp and the shared faith & values help to break down walls and create these meaningful connections between campers. Camp is a place where kids and teens put down their technology, enjoy the beauty of God’s creation outside, and have real conversations with others as they wait their turn on the zip line or walk to their next activity. The friendships fostered at camp are friendships built upon trust and love, and they often extend well past the shared week of camp that the campers attend.
