Who Are D-Group Leaders?

Most importantly, DGroup Leaders are authentic disciples of Jesus Christ. In the words of Pope Paul VI, we believe that “modern man listens more willingly to witnesses than to teachers, and if to teachers it is because they are witnesses” (Evangelii Nuntiandi 41).  That being said, DGroup Leaders must be active Young Church Core Members who are Catholics in good standing with the Church who have been vetted and trained by the Parish Staff. They are members of our Parish and have met all safe environment training and requirements for the Diocese of Fort Worth.

What a Disciple Group Leader does:

DGroup Leaders “walk the walk” as disciples to lead a small community of teens who want to grow as missionary disciples. They accomplish this by meeting weekly or bi-weekly with their DGroup in the home of a parent, the SFA Youth Center, or in a public place (such as a coffee house). DGroup Leaders guide teens through the how-tos of prayer and unpacks Church teaching in a way that applies directly to what their teens are experiencing in their daily lives.
